The Big Experiment 2010
The Big Experiment is back, with more workshops, sessions, songs, tunes, tutorials … three days of music with some of the top tutors in the field today.
There’ll be group tuition each morning, workshops each afternoon, talks, sessions and loads of time to make music together.
Where and when?
The Conway Centre, Anglesey, from 22 to 25 October 2010.
The Big Experiment opens on the Friday night (22 October) with tutors describing the work they’ll be doing; classes ‘proper’ start after breakfast on Saturday.
Mornings ...
Instrumentalist?
The focus for you will be on working with mixed instrument ensemble playing, learning by ear, expanding your repertoire and developing your technique. There’ll be groups for different abilities,
from the ‘slow session’ level to the advanced musician.
Singer?
You’ll be learning and experimenting with traditional Welsh song, as well as harmony workshops and voice development. The course will cater for both Welsh speakers and for those new to the language.
Afternoons ...
Each afternoon will offer a range of optional activities: lectures, instrument workshops, small group practice, performance tips, technical skills.
Evenings ...
There’ll be a range of sessions, from slow to full-on as well as corners for more tailor-made activity, and a Noson Lawen for those wanting to perform.
