Acoustic session in the Thorn Hotel, Mountain Ash Rd, Abercynon, CF45 4PR. 2:00 - 5:00, 3rd Sunday every month. All acoustic styles welcome - folk, blues, bluegrass, jazz etc.

Aber Tune Club meets 6.30 - 7.30pm Mondays in Llanbadarn Church Hall. An opportunity to learn and play Welsh tunes - aimed at beginners/intermediate.

The Welsh session in BrynAmlwg, is held on the first Thursday every month, starting at 8pm.

Welsh music session in the Boatyard pub, Bangor. 8.30pm start, on the 2nd Monday of the month.

Cardiff Harmonica Club is held each Wednesday, 7.30 pm, £5.00. Folk & Blues tuition led by Aidan Sheehan BA (Hons), PGCE, MU, accredited harmonica tutor (HarpsCool / National Harmonica League). User-friendly lessons, nice surroundings.

Dolanog Tune Club in Powys is for all those wishing to learn and swap Welsh folk tunes on traditional (or not so traditional!) instruments. The emphasis is on learning tunes by ear in the time honoured oral/aural fashion.

A traditional music session which meets monthly at Gwesty Gwernan, near Dolgellau. The name of the session is inspired by Ioan Rhagfyr (1740 -1821), who was born in and lived in Dolgellau.

Open Mic session at Ty Siamas, every other Wednesday.

Free for all with an instrument, £2 for those without an instrument.

We have recently taken over The Golden Lion and are keen to establish a folk music connection in the local area. We have a regular jamming session on a Thursday night, with all welcome to join.

Span Arts runs monthly singing sessions in the Queens Hall Gallery Room at 7.15pm on the third Wednesday of each month where you can just turn up and join in!

First Friday Irish traditional music session at the Irish club, Newport.

We meet on the first Friday of every month except August from 9pm onwards for an evening of Irish session tunes and the odd song. All levels of experience welcome.

Paul Frame (who won the Celtic Fiddle competition recently in Pembroke) is starting up fiddle workshops for total beginners and intermediates on Thurs nights at the Gwachel (Pontardawe Inn), Herbert Street, Pontardawe, near Swansea.
